- ## Supplemental Physician, Endocrinology (Sacramento, CA & Roseville, CA)Sutter HealthActiveSacramento, CANot SpecifiedPosted July 17, 2026$140 - $180### Job DescriptionOpportunity Information:Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Endocrinologist to join our dynamic team in Sacramento and/or Roseville, California.This is a supplemental (per diem), non-benefited position working in an outpatient clinic setting.Position HighlightsFlexible schedule: 1 2 days per week preferredShift-based role with variable compensation based on wRVU productionOutpatient-only practiceNo call responsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesThis role focuses on providing timely access for patients with urgent endocrine needs, including:Diabetes patients (including insulin pump management)Urgent endocrine consultsSTAT medication refill needsOther time-sensitive endocrine concernsThe physician will:Evaluate and stabilize patients during the visitProvide up to one follow-up visit if necessaryTransition ongoing care back to the patient s established endocrinology providerPractice StructureNo independent patient panelWill manage their own in-basket during scheduled clinic daysUrgent issues on non-clinic days will be triaged by clinical staff or an in-house endocrinologistNo in-basket coverage responsibilities for other providersDocumentation & WorkflowDevelop and utilize personalized note templates to ensure continuity of careUse standardized communication (dot phrases) in the After Visit Summary (AVS) to clarify role and availabilityCollaborate with clinic staff to set clear patient expectations regarding limited availability and scope of careThis is an excellent opportunity for an endocrinologist seeking a flexible, shift-based role focused on delivering high-quality, episodic care within a collaborative team environment.Qualifications:Board eligible/Board certifiedJoin Us and Enjoy:• Competitive compensation• Advanced practice technology, including EPIC• A positive work-life balance and Northern California's natural beauty and lifestyleOrganization Details:Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is a vibrant and talented community committed to delivering safe, affordable and high-quality care. Our multi-specialty medical group is comprised of over 1,600 clinicians practicing in seven counties in northern California, most within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento. SMG contains primary care and specialty Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians -- nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse midwives, licensed clinical social workers and licensed marriage and family therapists, who make up about 20% of our group.
