Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, documenting treatment details accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting by providing necessary dental instruments, managing patient management software, and monitoring vital signs to ensure patient safety throughout procedures. Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies and adhere to healthcare infection prevention and control standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including dental instrument processing, dental x-ray operation, and infection control procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, along with experience using patient management software. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation standards related to oral health care. Ability to work effectively in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal efficiency. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
