She Recruits is partnering with Medley Strategic Solutions to identify a Nurse Practitioner to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams supporting our nation's Veterans in Killeen, Texas.

This is a structured, full-time weekday opportunity with guaranteed hours, no call, and no prescribing. If you are seeking meaningful clinical work with predictable scheduling and strong compensation, this is an excellent opportunity.

About the Role

This position supports the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examination Program. Veterans are scheduled for one-time disability examinations at a dedicated facility.

The purpose of the C&P exam is to evaluate current health conditions related to disability claims. The Nurse Practitioner will not:

• Determine disability percentages
• Prescribe medications
• Develop treatment plans
• Provide ongoing care

All documentation is submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for final determination.

Key Responsibilities

• Review Veterans' medical and/or mental health history prior to exams using electronically bookmarked records
• Conduct structured, non-treatment disability evaluations
• Complete electronic Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours
• Utilize a guided web-based Provider Portal for documentation
• Respond to documentation clarification requests within required timelines
• Maintain compliance with contract documentation standards

Administrative time is built into the schedule to support timely and accurate documentation.

Clinical Scope

General medical exams may include:

• Musculoskeletal
• Cardiovascular
• Respiratory

Ancillary services such as X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, and ABIs may be ordered and completed onsite or nearby.

Appointment length ranges from 45 minutes to several hours depending on the Veteran's claimed conditions. Estimated exam time is provided in advance.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner required NP Only for this site)
• Active, unrestricted Texas license
• Primary care experience required
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Comfortable working independently
• Basic computer proficiency

Compensation & Pension or VA experience preferred but not required. Module training is provided.
