In this role, you'll work closely with UX designers, AI/ML experts, and research scientists, both internally and at partner institutions, to create seamless interfaces that empower users to interact effectively with our AI systems. The team combines strong engineering practices with close collaboration across Ai2's product and research orgs to deliver tools used by millions of researchers and developers worldwide.Your Next Challenge:The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and research scientists to develop rich UI experiences using React and robust backend services in PythonEngage in the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation and testing to deployment and operational support, with a strong sense of ownership for resultsScale our systems in a cost-effective and sustainable manner and be a driving force behind continuous improvements in reliability and automationImprove team velocity through contributions to software design, feature development, platform and framework enhancements, capacity planning, and deployment toolingHelp set and maintain best practices in how we measure, monitor, and respond to system availability, latency, and general application healthCommunicate effectively across engineering, product, and research teams to align priorities and drive projects to completionMentor less-senior engineers on the team in both technical and non-technical skillsWhat You'll Need:Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of technical experience; relevant experience may substitute for educationProfessional experience with web development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSSStrong Python engineering skillsProficiency with front-end frameworks such as ReactExperience with AWS, Google Cloud, or similar cloud platformsExperience with analytics and observability tools like Heap, Datadog, or similar for monitoring performance, system health, and user interactionsSolid understanding of integrating AI-powered capabilities into applications, including prompt engineering, memory management, agent workflows, and external tool integrationsStrong communication skills and a sense of ownership for resultsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
