Audiology Assistant - Full time Days

Description The Audiology Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities Maintain hearing aid inventory and supplies. Prepare equipment for audiological testing. Provide instruction to patients on hearing aid use, care, and troubleshooting. Perform basic hearing aid checks and cleanings. Assist Audiologists with hearing aid fittings, maintenance, patient education, and administrative work. Fit, program, and adjust hearing aids for optimal performance. Participate with other team members in patient care planning through verbal and written communications. Provide clear, concise, and timely patient care/medical documentation per departmental standards. Assist with insurance verification and billing processes. Participate in patient planning to facilitate the continuity of patient care. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Promote and maintain professional working relationships with interdisciplinary team members. Adhere to the Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Hearing Instrument Dispenser license through Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), or active Trainee Hearing Instrument Dispenser licensure (IDPH) and must obtain Hearing Instrument Dispenser license within 90 days of starting. Knowledge of hearing aid technology and troubleshooting. Minimum one (1) year of previous experience working as an Audiology Assistant or Hearing Aid Dispenser in a healthcare or retail setting. Familiarity with EPIC. CPR-BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA). Proficient in Audiology software applications. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of experience working as an Audiology Assistant or Hearing Aid Dispenser. Competencies / Performance Expectations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to operate hearing aid programming software and diagnostic equipment. Refer to NMHC Performance Standard Competencies.
