Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: Newark, NJ
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30); Every Other Weekend requirement (Saturday/Sunday)
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with specialized experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Level III to provide high-quality care for neonates, including those with complex medical conditions such as neonatal abstinence syndrome. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administering medications, managing respiratory support, and providing developmental care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU.
- Administer blood products and manage IVs for hydration and medication delivery.
- Monitor neonates with cardiovascular telemetry and respiratory support.
- Support feeding initiatives, including breastfeeding and enteral feedings.
- Conduct patient/family teaching to enhance understanding of care processes.
- Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU.
- Active New Jersey or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
- Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Experience with high-acuity neonatal care, including ventilator management and medication administration in critical situations.
- Proficiency in EPIC charting system is required.
