Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: New York license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Must have a New York license in hand - EPIC experience is required Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse in the PCU specialty. This position requires a night shift of 12 hours, from 19:00 to 07:00. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg. BLS certification is necessary for this role. Cardiac Monitoring skills, including the interpretation of dysrhythmias, are required. The nurse will respond to emergencies, utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills involving peripheral line care and management are required. Experience with respiratory therapies such as nasal cannulas and oxygen face masks is essential. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of isolation precautions. The unit has 26 beds and provides critical care step-down services. Patient demographics include adults requiring specialized care. The nursing team utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to provide exceptional care. Continuous telemetry monitoring is a standard practice on this unit. Care may include managing patients with arterial and central lines, as well as those needing titrated medicated IV infusions. We're looking for someone adaptable and vigilant, able to provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
