Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and engine performance issues Inspecting and repairing diesel engines used in commercial trucks Disassembling engines to identify worn or damaged components Rebuilding diesel engines and replacing defective parts Repairing or replacing pistons, bearings, gears, valves, bushings, and related engine components Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections Using precision measuring instruments and specialized diagnostic equipment Operating machine tools, engine lathes, and boring equipment Welding and cutting components using arc welding and flame cutting equipment when required Completing repair documentation accurately Ensuring all repairs meet DOT regulations and company safety standards Working independently and as part of a professional maintenance team This is a hands‑on diesel mechanic position supporting a modern commercial trucking fleet in a fast‑paced transportation environment. Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: Two or more years of diesel mechanic or related mechanical experience preferred Experience repairing commercial trucks and diesel engines Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities Knowledge of diesel engine systems, drivetrain components, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems Experience using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment Ability to work independently while maintaining high‑quality workmanship Strong attention to safety and DOT compliance Physical Requirements Lift, position, remove, and install components weighing 80 pounds or more Enter, exit, and operate commercial truck cabs safely Climb under trailers and heavy‑duty equipment Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Perform repairs while standing, kneeling, bending, crawling, and lifting throughout the shift Operate hand and foot controls safely Compensation and Schedule $27.00 — $28.00 per hour based on experience Full-time position Monday through Friday 5:00 AM — 5:00 PM
