Phlebotomist - Team Lead

Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives. Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader to join our team at Patroon Creek Blvd in Albany, NY. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30am-6:30pm, additional days and hours may be required. Job Responsibilities Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and make schedule adjustments as needed Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED or equivalent 3 years or more of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred Qualifications 5 years or more of phlebotomy experience 1 year or more of experience as a people leader Additional Job Standards In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service Strong communication skills; both written and verbal Ability to work independently or in a team environment Comfortably working under minimal supervision Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable Able to pass a standardized color blindness test In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Pay Range $17.75 - $20.00 per hour Benefits Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
