Program Manager

We're seeking an experienced Program Manager for an upcoming opportunity at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. This role is ideal for a certified project management professional who can lead complex facility programs, coordinate stakeholders, and keep critical initiatives on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage facility, maintenance, renovation, and capital programs
• Develop work plans, milestones, and integrated schedules
• Track performance, risks, issues, resources, and dependencies
• Prepare status reports, leadership briefings, and decision materials
• Coordinate contractors, VA leaders, clinical teams, and other stakeholders
• Communicate outages, construction impacts, and major risks
• Lead status meetings and recommend process improvements
• Ensure compliance with task-order and VA requirements

Qualifications

• Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• At least 10 years of relevant experience
• Experience managing complex programs and project portfolios
• Strong scheduling, reporting, and resource-planning skills
• Experience managing risks, issues, milestones, and performance metrics
• Strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience supporting leadership decisions and continuous improvement

Schedule

The facility operates 24 hours a day. Available shifts may include:

• 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• 3:30 PM–12:00 AM
• 11:30 PM–8:00 AM

The final shift will be determined by the VA and may change based on facility needs. Federal holiday coverage may be required.
