Summary This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center. It is under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor or a designee. The role includes janitorial and custodial services at the VA Medical Center located in Denver and Pueblo, Colorado. Qualifications Applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement on 09/30/2026. Specific length of training or experience is not required, but candidates must provide evidence of training or experience that demonstrates sufficient scope and quality of their ability to perform the duties. The initial screen will evaluate a prescribed screen‐out element; eligible applicants will then be rated against the remaining job elements: Dexterity and Safety, Follow Directions, Handle Weights and Loads, Reliability and Dependability, and Special Aptitude – Housekeeping. Responsibilities Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties and routine housekeeping tasks. Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas. Sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors; vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture; empty waste baskets; clean light globes and Venetian blinds; wash walls, windows, and ceilings; climb small ladders; refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers; move furniture. Carry out assignments with minimal supervision. Benefits Work schedule: full time or part time. Scheduling determined upon selection.
