Categories: Instructional / Teaching Faculty Job Description The Virginia Tech School of Communication invites applications for a full-time, open-rank Professor of Practice (non-tenure-track). The successful candidate will be expected to teach sports media and analytics courses, which could include Intro to Sports Media, Sports Journalism, Broadcasting Performance, Sports Play-by-Play Reporting, and Sportscenter, as well as courses relevant to the successful candidate's area of expertise. The expected teaching load is three classes per semester. Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in journalism or related field or bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or related field with substantial experience in sports media.
• Demonstration of extensive professional sports media industry expertise. Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate in journalism or related field
• Full-time experience in sports media
• Sports broadcasting experience
• Sports production experience
• College-level teaching experience
