This full-time role represents physician clinics by managing front desk and telephone communications with professionalism and warmth. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls.
• Greet patients warmly and respectfully upon arrival.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families, keeping them informed.
• Accurately obtain and enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols.
• Assist patients or guardians with patient portal setup at the time of service.
• Make confirmation calls and guide patients to complete necessary paperwork via the patient portal.
• Show empathy and respect when interacting with others.
• Take accurate messages and process them promptly.
• Update patient demographic and other required forms at each encounter.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service.
• Inform patients about their financial responsibilities with their insurance carrier.
• Demonstrate accountability, work independently, adapt to change, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist or similar programs, or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting. Equivalent customer service experience with similar responsibilities will be considered.

Certification/License

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental/Physical Requirements

Requires considerable mental concentration. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs., frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a medical office environment with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
