PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.The Manager Inventory plans, supervises and implements standard operating procedures within the inventory control department to meet client requests and ensure quality of inventory.Additional Information:Location: Morton, IL (United States)Required Travel: Up to 10% (Domestic & International)Relocation Assistance Offered: NoneUS Work Sponsorship Offered: NoneWhat You Will Do:• Evaluates performance of inventory staff, participates in hiring and training staff and provides advice on performance improvement to intensify the capacity of the division.• Analyzes inventory processes and develops new methods and approaches to improve the quality and efficiency of service.• Plans and monitors each phase of the inventory process, including reconciliation, audit and replenishment according to ISO standards and company regulations.• Coordinates with multiple functions, such as manufacturing, procurement, etc. to acquire appropriate requirements to meet development and accuracy standards.• Managing day-to-day activities of inventory administration staff; participating in interviewing, hiring, and training and development of associates.• Facility inventory performance and underperforming inventory reviews• Facility availability targets• Network S&OP inventory and volume forecasting• Support facility engineering (space) and OPACC improvement projects• Ensure network lead time accuracy & optimization opportunities• Dealer Bargain List management• Surplus Inventory Review & RCCA• Scrap execution and SOX controls• Testing & System EnhancementWhat You Have (Basic Requirements):Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data analytics, data science, computer science, supply chain, industrial engineering, math, stats, econ, or similar technical subject matterData Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): Knowledge of the process, issues and considerations for systematically managing distribution of inventory for multiple plants or warehouses; ability to apply related knowledge and experience in real practice.Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.What You Will Get:This is Caterpillar – creating and delivering world-class components and solutions superior to the competition. Learn more about The Caterpillar Experience and why It's More Than a Job, it's a Careerat Caterpillar.Learn more about what happens inside Caterpillar’s Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD).About Caterpillar:Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
