Role Summary

The Benefit Implementation Specialist serves as part of the “new client welcome committee” and will be responsible for coordinating and implementing employee benefit programs for our clients who utilize our PEO services. This position serves as the primary point of contact for clients during the implementation process, ensuring a smooth transition and successful integration of benefits programs. Our ideal candidate has strong project management skills, a deep understanding of benefits administration, excellent communication abilities with PEO or Shared Services experience, and a passion for helping others. We also value integrity, team spirit, and strong organizational skills.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Has an Associates degree in HR or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in HR and benefits compliance
• Previous experience in a client-facing role preferred
• 3+ years with human resources information systems (UKG Ready, Workday, etc.)
• PEO or Shared Services experience preferred
• Excellent customer service, including verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a cooperative team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
• Customer-service focused - we are in the business of caring for people who care for people
• Extremely organized, detail oriented and analytical

What You'll Be Doing

The essential functions of the Benefits Implementation Specialist position include, but are not limited to the following:

Benefits Implementation

• Guide and drive clients towards the best solution for their business needs.
• Partner with clients to gather all necessary information and documentation required for the implementation of benefits programs.
• Conduct thorough analysis and assessment of client needs, including reviewing existing benefit plans.
• Coordinate with internal teams, such as HR, payroll, and finance to ensure the timely and accurate setup of benefit plans and systems.
• Assist clients in selecting appropriate benefit plans based on their specific requirements, providing expert advice and guidance on available options.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate and compliant enrollment data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain client relationship until the completion of two successful payrolls.

Benefits Administration

• Research, problem-solve, and resolve benefits issues.
• Maintain and correct employee benefits data in HRIS.
• Facilitate monthly client audits.
• Process qualifying life events.
• Employee benefit education and open enrollment assistance.
• Provide monthly client sponsored reports.
• Draft and review communication tools.
• Ensure plans and operations are compliant with rules (including ERISA, IRS, HR laws, etc.) and manage risk.
• Troubleshooting enrollment issues, addressing billing discrepancies, or resolving employee inquiries.
• Complete benefits audits.
