Help Desk Technical Support Specialist Hawaii with Security Clearance

Ft. Shafter, Hawaii SteelGate LLC is hiring a full‑time Help Desk Technical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role you will be supporting the U.S. Army Reserves and providing C4IM missions and support for the Pacific region. The U.S. Army Reserves manages all C4IM missions and C4IM Service and Support for the Pacific. The Reserve provides direct C4IM support to Headquarters and staff elements, Direct Reporting Units (DRU) on network functions pertaining to Operations and Plans, Network Operations, and Unified Communications. Strategic, tactical, and base sustaining C4IM support during peacetime and contingent operations are executed in support of all U.S. Army Reserve units in the Pacific. Any loss of access to the PLWN or its critical applications and services will severely degrade operations and missions in support of the U.S. Army Reserve Mission throughout the Pacific Theater of Operations. Responsibilities Manage and provide day‑to‑day support for end‑user devices that provide local or remote access, wired or wireless. Provide troubleshooting and resolve technical issues. Conduct application and data migration necessary because of hardware or software IMAC or re‑installation. Troubleshoot and repair software and network connectivity issues. Build, configure, and test IT equipment in accordance with applicable standard hardware configuration(s), software image(s), procedures, and specific requirements. Plan, engineer, coordinate, install, and/or manage equipment installations. Recommend upgrades and replacements in accordance with policies and procedures. Integrate, test, and verify remote access hardware and software. Support approved peripheral devices. Interface directly with customers to provide training and to resolve issues related to services. Coordinate with Network Engineers, Site/Local Helpdesk, OEMS, Network, Server, Architecture, Engineering and the requested organization. Conduct pre‑installation and site surveys as necessary. Use Altiris Help Desk/Remedy for receiving, documenting, and closing tickets. Update management tools as required. Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience troubleshooting in mixed environments (SIPR, NIPR, CENTRIX, STAMIS, etc.). Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems related to servers, mobile devices, A/V equipment, Active Directory. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for IT support. Extensive working knowledge of OS delivery methods (Altiris DS, SCCM, etc.). Extensive working knowledge of networking and VTC support. Required Qualifications 2–4 years of experience providing IT support service troubleshooting both hardware and software issues in mixed environments that include workstations&laptops (SIPR, NIPR, CENTRIX, STAMIS, etc.). Minimum DoD8570IAT LevelII Compliance: Security+with CE. Must possess and maintain Secret clearance.
