Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Location: Fremont, CA (100% On-Site)

Position Type: Full-Time / Contract

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift

Department: Quality Assurance / Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector to join our precision machining and automated assembly team in Fremont, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high product standards across all stages of production. Key duties include inspecting incoming raw materials and fabricated parts, monitoring active assembly workflows, and conducting final visual and functional audits before finished products ship to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming raw materials, machined parts, and mechanical/electrical components to confirm alignment with engineering schematics, blueprints, and purchase agreements.
  • Perform in-line quality checks throughout production and assembly to enforce workmanship specifications.
  • Execute final inspections on completed units to confirm full assembly, verify component counts, and identify cosmetic defects (e.g., surface blemishes, dents, or fracture lines).
  • Utilize handheld and fixed precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and optical instruments.
  • Review, verify, and archive inspection logs, quality reports, and Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
  • Track and log component non-conformances, alerting management to recurring defects to support process improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace compliant with ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of quality control or quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Prior experience with semiconductor capital equipment, precision assembly, or mechanical receiving inspection preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and purchase order criteria.
  • Practical experience using standard precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges).
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing technical documentation.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Fremont, CA facility during scheduled hours.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Essential Functions: The role involves moving across the machine shop and assembly floors, standing for extended periods, and inspecting/handling mechanical components, with or without reasonable accommodation.
