Credit Analyst

Credit AnalystResponsible for the assessment and management of Vitol's credit risk with counterparties located in the Americas, in tight coordination with credit teams. Supporting different matrices - crude oil and products, power and gas, renewables, for an assigned portfolio of counterparties and projects, working closely with trading, legal, compliance and other finance functions.Utilizing language ability in Spanish or Portuguese to perform quantitative and qualitative assessments of counterparts and proposing adequate credit limits, and provide support to commercial teams on the assessment of credit risks.Negotiating of credit provisions within commercial and credit support agreements. Providing surveillance of the portfolio, notifying Credit and Trading managers of any significant event. Implementing adequate risk mitigation solutions, including sale of receivables and use of credit risk and performance risk insurance. Supporting commercial and business development teams in the structuring and monitoring of complex structures across the region. Preparing global sectorial exposure reports for senior management team. Managing and developing relationships with credit teams of trading counterparties.Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related financial field and 3 years of experience in credit risk management or settlement risk management in an energy or financial institution OR Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related financial field and 1 year of experience in credit risk management or settlement risk management in an energy or financial institution.Experience to include (3 years with Bachelor's or 1 year with Master's) in:Commodity trade life cycles;Contract analysis and negotiation;Managing credit risk of counterparties, including those located in Latin America and North America;Assessing company exposure including from credit, performance, and operational standpoint;Addressing risk through detailed and specialized contracts to minimize potential losses and preserving value;Trade exposure and cost management, including costs and P&L forecasting and control.Language requirement: Spanish or Portuguese to read financial statements and contracts which are essential to performing the position.Worksite: 3425 W Alabama St., Houston, TX, 77027; 40 hours/week;Comprehensive benefit coverage includes:MedicalDentalVisionPaid Vacation401k with company contributionsLife insuranceShort-term & Long-term disabilityAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
