Research Intern

Winning Connections is looking for an energetic, bright intern to join our team this fall. We are a team of award-winning political experts who run live phone, texting, and tele-town hall programs to persuade and mobilize voters and connect constituents with elected officials to impact legislation. Over the past 25 years, Winning Connections has helped elect Senators Jackie Rosen, Maggie Hassan, Jon Ossoff, Gary Peters, and Mark Kelly. Our organizational clients have included Planned Parenthood, FWD.us, Everytown for Gun Safety, and the League of Conservation Voters. We are a small but mighty team of people who are passionate about electoral politics and legislative policy. Our interns are an integral part of the team and gain a real-world understanding of what it’s like to work in a political consulting firm in Washington, DC. Responsibilities Assist with marketing research, including identifying legislative policy trends, electoral campaigns and spending, and prospective client information. Update and maintain database information for the firm’s marketing efforts. Prepare presentations. Assist with the preparation of outreach materials and correspondence. Assist with setting up, launching, and managing phone, text, and tele-town hall programs. Attend meetings and take notes. Provide general support to other team members. Requirements Undergraduate student, preferably majoring in political science, policy, or a related field. Interest in domestic electoral and legislative politics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Detail-oriented. Proficiency with using online platforms and tools for marketing research purposes. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience using Salesforce is a plus. $18.40 hourly compensation. This is an in-office position based on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. You must be fully vaccinated and boosted. We require 20+ hours per week, and we prioritize people who can work more hours per week. The internship starts in September and ends in December.
