Teller/New Accounts Representative

Position Full‑Time Teller/New Accounts Representative – Personal Banker. Responsibilities The position trains first in teller duties, then in new account opening. Primary responsibilities include: Handle cash transactions, verify negotiable instruments, and identify counterfeit currency. Balance ATMs and daily cash drawer totals, ensuring cash and coin are secured. Consolidate and reconcile daily transactions. Perform deposits, loan payments, cash checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks. Build loyalty with customers by uncovering needs and recommending solutions. Open consumer and business accounts and manage customer onboarding. Resolve service issues and conduct outbound sales activities, such as meeting local businesses and attending community events. Connect customers to appropriate specialists for loans, mortgages, treasury management, or investment services. Follow up with new customers by phone to ensure satisfaction and address additional needs. Engage customers in the lobby and on the phone to educate them on self‑service technologies. Maintain privacy and comply with all regulatory policies and procedures. Complete required regulatory training and perform additional duties assigned by management. Availability for some evenings and Saturdays. Education, Experience, & Licenses High school diploma or higher – required. Minimum one year of teller or new accounts experience – preferred. Minimum one year of cash‑handling and customer service experience – required. Work Schedule Monday‑Friday, 7:40 a.m. – 6 p.m., with 1–2 Saturdays per month, 8:50 a.m. – 12 p.m. Work Location Guaranty Bank & Trust, Mount Vernon, TX. Must live within 30 minutes of the bank’s location. Address: 304 S Highway 37, Mount Vernon, TX 75457 Physical Demands The employee often sits, uses hands for repetitive motions, and talks or hears. Occasionally stands, walks, and lifts. Must operate routine office equipment and perform computer work 6‑8 hours per day. Must attend extended hours or travel off‑site as required. Must climb/descend stairs in emergencies. Must have visual acuity for tasks such as reading, data preparation, and inspection of small parts.
