This position will ensure production Value Stream goals are met in PQVC by providing support for the Manufacturing Engineers in the execution of project implementation and daily support of the Operations team as warranted. The candidate will assist the Engineers in developing print packages for RFQ's, tooling and fixturing, CI card completion, Standard Work and other ETQ documentation creation and maintenance, plant layouts and related tasks as needed.Job responsibilities to include but not limited to:Operator should have attention to detail and be self-motivated.Operator will work in a team environment.Operator is expected to cross train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility within the job classification scope.Troubleshooting of engine testAbility to run and diagnose test cellsSupport NPI and implementation of updated processesSupport installation and run-off of new equipmentAssist in troubleshooting equipment problems or other issues related to NPITrial and runoff of new tools and associated training of group leaders and operatorsInvestigation and implementation of VS CI cardsAssist in troubleshooting equipment problemsManage Suppliers for the fabrication of lifting devices, tooling, and fixturingCreate and update standard work, safe operating procedures, control plans and SFMEA documentationEvaluating and updating standard work, process flow, control plan, FMEA documentsInterfacing with operations and other cross functional groups in addition to engineering team membersExpected to determine and perform root cause corrective analyses and actions.Assembly tooling and fixture designAssist with torque tooling implementationMES work instructions / MBOM improvementsCreate tooling drawings and plant layouts in AutoCADPurchase needed tooling and supplies through Caterpillar's Purchase Order SystemAttend and actively participate in safety and team meetingsAttend and actively participate in LEAN events and workshopsBasic Qualifications:5+ years in a Caterpillar Remanufacturing facility OR an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing related fieldExperience reading and understanding blueprintsExperience reading and understanding precision gauges and/or torque devicesExperience with process flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEAsExperience troubleshooting and resolving problems, recognizing the need for support and creating teams to accomplish tasks, if necessary.High proficiency of PC skills including Microsoft office applicationsTop Candidates Will Also Have:Associate's/Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing or engineering related fieldCurrently enrolled in or desire to pursue additional education in a manufacturing related field2+ years of experience working with bill of materials and engine assembly or diesel mechanicsStrong Diesel Engine Background and Understanding of how to build diesel engines from 7L up to C175-20Diesel Engine Test ExperienceExperience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Creo, etc.)Tooling/fixturing design experienceExcellent communication/interpersonal skillsHigh degree of accountability for product and processesProcess improvement experiencePhysical Requirements:Certain functions within this job category may require:Physical exertion and effort to safely lift push or pull components or partsStanding or sitting at workstations for extended periods of timeThe safe execution of repetitive motionsAbility to repetitively lift parts weighing up to 35lbs.Visual and hearing abilities as appropriate for safe execution of job duties, functions, and tasksJob Bid Eligibility Requirements:Any current agency workers applying to this position must have worked the required 300 hours in order to be considered as well as meeting all requirements for the position.Additional informationCompensation & Benefits Offered!Starting hourly pay rate of $28.60 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)Work Hours:40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime80 hours of vacation with an additional 3 days (hours dependent on work schedule) of Paid Time Off (PTO) (all prorated based on hire date)10 Paid holidaysClimate controlled work environment – most areas100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employmentHealth, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employmentPotential annual performance increaseClean/safe work environmentPaid holiday shut down at the end of the year (dependent upon business needs)All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to any Caterpillar position:Background ScreeningDrug & Alcohol Screening (Applicants are hereby advised that the Company has implemented a drug and alcohol policy and conducts a testing program, pursuant to Sections 71-7-1, et al., of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Ann.
