Product Development Chemist II

Overview Arclin USA is looking to fill a Product Development Chemist II position in Macon, GA. The role reports to the R&T Director and is responsible for designing and executing new product development tasks related to innovative chemistry-based products (resins) and solutions supporting Arclin’s product development strategy. Responsibilities Plan and execute projects to develop quality resin products and optimize existing product production for Arclin customers, including conducting lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing, and production troubleshooting. Provide technical support to the application group, production, and sales in compliance with ISO standards, and participate in product design and customer meetings as required. Maintain accurate and complete records of work results and activities; support the HSE group on product MSDS and the Supply Chain group for raw material sourcing. Maintain a clean and safe lab environment in compliance with Arclin HSE policies and procedures, ensuring all lab equipment is maintained and operating optimally. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (BSc) or equivalent; Master’s or better in Chemistry preferred. 3–5 years of experience in an industrial chemical laboratory environment (MS degree substitutes for two years of experience). Knowledge of the chemistry of formaldehyde‑based phenolic and amino resins is an asset. Basic understanding of engineering processes used in resin production. Knowledge of experimental design, laboratory equipment, and project planning skills. Attention to detail and accuracy; ability to document and write technical reports. Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in computer software (MS Office, etc.). Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or better in Chemistry or related field. Preferred: Master’s degree or better in Chemistry or related field. Experience Required: 3–5 years in an industrial chemical laboratory (or equivalent).
