As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectPerforms heavy coding utilizing Java, Spring, Microservices/RESTful API, relational databases and Cloud servicesLeads Agile team of 6 as an active developer and contributor by solving and implementing difficult technology challenges for successful team deliveryExpand unit testing automation suite capabilities by integrating tests into CI/CD pipeline; ensuring 100% documentation & unit testing of all code delivered Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectivenessApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automationRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability8+ years hands on experience using Java, Spring based technologies and event based microservices in a Cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)Strong experience with micro services/RESTful API, relational/NoSQL databases, data modeling and data ingestion frameworksHands-on experience with data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.)Understanding of containers (Dockers, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)Influencing & stakeholder management: Aligns roadmaps; secures cross‑functional buy‑in with data and clear trade‑offsExecutive communication: Frames complex tech and risk as business impact with clear optionsMentoring: Coaches engineers; builds quality, psychological safety, and continuous improvementHands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and securityUnderstanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practicesPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsAWS certification.
