Job TitleAircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Maintenance ManagerJob DescriptionDuties:Plan, direct, and coordinate the overall workload of the Division across both VRT sites.Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, consideration of the relative difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of assigned employees.Provide technical guidance regarding the prototyping, production, repair, assembly, disassembly, overhaul, alignment, and test of ALRE systems and components.Develop Quality Characteristics Lists in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, technical manuals, drawings, blueprints, and input from NAWCAD Lakehurst Engineering, ensuring that all significant events are documented.Verify product quality using sampling inspection, or when appropriate to the characteristics involved or pertinent to quality history, performs more intensive product inspection techniques.Direct the performance of quality audits, investigations, and procedural reviews to improve product or service quality, turn-around-time and costs, and overall performance parameters.Requirements Conditions of employment:Must be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.Qualifications:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:Ensuring the quality and reliability in Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) catapult and arresting gear system maintenance and overhaul processes aboard aircraft carriers, air capable ships and shore facilities.Leading an ALRE maintenance organization that includes conducting in-house audits, overseeing quality control processes, analyzing data, and developing strategies or policies to achieve higher quality.Interpreting statistical quality data that can depict the quality performance level of various critical processes.Analyzing and interpreting Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure personnel, processes, procedures, and other resources meet ISO 9001, NAVAIR, NAVSEA, and other applicable standards.Interfacing with customers and stakeholders to convey requirements and receive feedback on team performance.
