The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Collaborating closely with school staff and external vendors, the Custodian ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of all school facilities.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses: Valid driver's license.

Experience: Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.

Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.

Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Practical communication skills, both verbal and written.

Self-directed with the ability to work independently.

Proficiency in electronic systems (e.g., cell phone, computer, ticketing systems).

Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, tools, equipment, maintenance principles, and sanitation methods.

General repair skills.

Ability to lift, bend, and pull over 50 pounds; capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for long periods.

Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to dust, chemicals, bodily fluids, varying temperatures, and equipment with moving parts.

Ability to travel between multiple locations daily; must have reliable transportation.

Work Environment: The role involves exposure to various environmental conditions and requires flexibility to adapt to different tasks and schedules. The Custodian must be prepared to respond to emergencies and perform duties that ensure the safety and cleanliness of the school facilities.

Compensation: Custodian wages will be based on individual experience and within the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule range.
