You will lead large HVAC Controls construction projects, valued at $3M or more, and manage the complexities of larger construction projects. Under general direction, you are responsible for the profitable execution of assigned projects. You will work with Owner and contractor sales managers, branch installation manager, and teams to provide sales support activities early in the development process, including strategy input, vendor/partner selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, and risk assessment. You ensure that assigned projects are accurate, on‑time, billed, within budget, and within scope of the contract. You maintain positive cash flow, actively pursue selling change orders, and ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements while adhering to the highest ethics and safety standards. You follow consistent project management procedures and maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and financial results. How you will do it Acts as the primary on‑site leader for execution teams on assigned projects and develops project schedules. Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client‑issued bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes; actively pursues additional work through change orders and negotiates final settlement price. Manages costs, billings, and collections; completes project billings accurately and on time; maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow. Reviews and interprets contract terms and conditions. Analyzes financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems; communicates progress, issues, and financial status to management. Utilizes Microsoft Project to evaluate job progress and risks. Manages risks, establishes recovery plans when required, and resolves disputes with minimal escalation. Negotiates, prepares, and issues subcontracts. Ensures project document controls comply with contract requirements and JCI standards. Oversees construction compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques. Manages material selection, ordering, and delivery schedules. Develops and maintains long‑term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors; attends job progress meetings. Coordinates with CMS and HVAC Installation Manager, Systems Team Leader, or Branch Mechanical Project Team Leader to allocate resources. Assists Region Management Team and sales in project development efforts. Coordinates customer‑training requirements. Interfaces with and provides direction to Truck Based teams on select projects. Prepares cost estimates, project scheduling, and project management for select projects. What we look for Required 6 (six) years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry. Experience with projects related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems. Experience executing projects within the healthcare industry/market. Expectation that PMI/PMP certification will be obtained within 2 years of employment. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical material to a non‑technical audience. Proficiency in Project Management software and financial accounting systems. Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment. Travel 40%+; projects may exist outside assigned geography. Ability to execute projects of higher complexity (multiple subcontractors and scopes of work). Preferred Experience managing a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges requiring knowledge of many disciplines. Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an Associate’s degree with equivalent experience. PMI/PMP certification preferred. Salary Range HIRING SALARY RANGE: $107,000 – $161,000. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. Exceptional candidates may bring unique skills that exceed the typical profile.
