Health & Safety Specialist

VEGA Americas Internal Applications

What you’ll do: Create and implement safety plans/programs in accordance with OSHA Standards. Train employees in worksite safety practices by promoting and leading a site culture where safety is engrained as a core value. Perform safety inspections of the production floor. Perform audits of written safety program. Investigate accidents and near misses. Provide corrective actions. Perform JSA and LOTO assessments. Train new employees on JSA for their respective areas. Maintain chemical inventory list. Ensure SDS sheets are current and up to date for all departments in IQS. Evaluate and assign all annual safety training needs for all VEGA employees. Manage Safety Skills platform. Maintain OSHA 300A log, report electronically through OSHA annually. Monitor subcontractors’ safety and compliance. Prepare and present reports on safety metrics. Ensure that employees consistently follow safety protocols. Coordinate and run the emergency response team. Manage hearing conservation program. Assist with annual fire and severe weather drills. Manage UniFirst first aid and safety cabinets. Ensure all training is kept up to date for lift truck drivers, ERT, respirators, hearing conservation, etc. What you need: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field. 3+ years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience related to the position. OSHA 30 Certification.
