Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit 07/18/2026 Contract Active Job Description Provide direct patient care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in a NICU setting. This role involves managing patients with complex medical needs, including prematurity, respiratory issues, cardiac defects, and feeding difficulties. Key Responsibilities Administer nursing care to patients in the NICU. Monitor vital signs and patient status, recognizing and responding to changes. Manage patients requiring respiratory support, including tracheostomy care and ventilation. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Perform procedures such as PICC line and central line care. Administer TPN and IL to appropriate patients. Educate patients and families on care plans and health management. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation. Respond to emergency situations. Schedule / Shift 3x12 hour shifts per week Alternating Day/Night shifts Day Shift: 0700-1930 Night Shift: 1900-0730 Required Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland. Completion of a recognized basic life support program. CPI certification. Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience. Demonstrated experience with pediatric patients, tracheostomy care, and ventilation management. Preferred Qualifications ACLS certification. Certifications RN MD State License BLS CPI Experience 2 years of pediatric nursing experience. Experience with tracheostomy and ventilation management. Experience with PICC lines, central lines, TPN, and IL. First-time travelers are accepted. Skills Pediatric assessment and care. Tracheostomy care. Ventilator management. PICC line and central line management. TPN and IL administration. Electronic health record charting. Critical thinking and problem‑solving. Communication and interpersonal skills. EMR / Systems Specific EMR system not provided; will be facility‑dependent. Patient Population Neonates Infants Pediatrics Unit / Specialty NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Floating / On-Call Floating required within the specialty and sister units as needed.
