About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Transplant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required, with strong experience in med/surg/telemetry and transplant preferred. License: Current RN License required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: - Patient ratio experience: 1:4 (days) and 1:5 (nights). - On-call required for weekend coverage. - Ability to perform within scope to meet facility needs is necessary. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Transplant specialty. The unit specializes in solid organ transplant, renal disease and dialysis, vascular and general surgeries, and plastic surgeries. This unit also provides telemetry monitoring and has specially-trained nurses to perform on-unit hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Daily patient census is approximately 16,500 annually. A ratio of 1:4 during day shifts and 1:5 during night shifts is expected. Weekend coverage is required, including self-scheduled on-call shifts. Previous charge experience is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate skill in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and interpretation of dysrhythmias among others. Candidates should also be competent in telemetry monitoring, wound care, and management of dysrhythmias. This role does not require floating to other units within the facility. Epic charting experience is required. References from previous supervisory roles are preferred. Critical compliance requirements include a background check and training modules prior to starting the position.
