We are looking for a Patient Support Associate to join a non-profit healthcare environment in Marietta, Georgia on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. This position supports patient registration and front-desk operations by guiding patients through appointments, documentation, and payment processes while creating a welcoming experience. The role also works closely with student interns, faculty, and clinic staff to help maintain accurate records, organized workflows, and responsive service across the clinic.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients and visitors, provide clear information about clinic services, and support a positive experience from arrival through check-out.
• Coordinate follow-up visits at check-out, prepare required paperwork, and enter patient details accurately into the electronic records system.
• Process copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, ensuring payments are recorded correctly and receipts are issued promptly.
• Reconcile daily cash and payment activity by matching collected funds with batch postings and reporting documentation.
• Maintain patient charts, visit documentation, and related files so records remain complete, current, and stored in the proper location.
• Partner with other clinic departments to route records appropriately while protecting confidentiality and following applicable organizational guidelines.
• Assist with compiling clinic-related reports and provide administrative support for special assignments as needed.
• Keep front office and shared work areas clean, orderly, and ready for daily patient activity, and report malfunctioning equipment without delay.
• Communicate professionally with patients, faculty, and student interns while responding attentively to questions and service needs.• At least 3 years of relevant experience in patient registration, a medical clinic, chiropractic office, business office, or similar clinical setting.
• Associate degree preferred, or a high school diploma/equivalent combined with substantial related work experience.
• Experience working with electronic health records and confidence using computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage front-desk responsibilities such as scheduling, patient intake support, payment handling, and multi-line phone coverage.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with diverse patients, staff, and students.
• Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while handling multiple priorities independently.
• Understanding of confidentiality expectations and ability to handle patient information with discretion and accuracy.
