Associate Underwriter

Job Title Associate Underwriter (Levels I–IV) – Fresno, CA Location Fresno, California Essential Responsibilities Apply rules, guidelines, insurance laws, and regulations. Review, document, and/or underwrite new and renewal policy transactions within written authority. Enter policy information on assigned product, territory, and/or agency per RMA procedure. Proof and audit policy information for assigned product, territory, and/or agencies. Review premium and loss data for renewal, change, and mid‑term underwriting. Review insurance applications and risk documentation. Review underwriting requirements and refer applications or correspondence out of written authority. Gather information on new and renewal business to support underwriter decision making. Investigate discrepancies in gathered information. Order, review, and take appropriate action on required reports, endorsement requests, service requests, and general correspondence. Analyze individual risk pricing for new business and renewals within written authority. Monitor data entry to ensure integrity and avoid systemic issues. Communicate with agents and customers to obtain needed information and address issues. Respond to agent inquiries and research questions. Provide support to underwriters as needed. Organize underwriting information to speed decision making by the underwriter. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferential experience in crop insurance (not required).
