Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our MedSurg/Telemetry team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse population of patients with various medical and surgical conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 25
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Common Diagnoses: Joint replacements, fractures, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomies, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Titration Responsibilities: Heparin, lidocaine, ketamine
• PCA Pumps: Commonly used

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Delivering patient-centered care with compassion and professionalism.
• Collaborating with medical staff and team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitoring and assessing patients' conditions and responding proactively to changes.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilizing telemetry technology for patient monitoring and interpreting basic cardiac rhythms.
• Ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards within the unit.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse.
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required.
• Float Requirements: Willingness to float to other medical-surgical areas as needed.

Work Schedule

This position involves 12-hour night shifts, with a commitment to at least every other weekend and 2-3 holidays during the holiday season. Orientation includes unit-specific training, typically spanning two days.

Dress Code

Registered Nurses are required to wear navy blue scrubs while on duty, adhering to unit policies regarding professional appearance.
