Large Press Setup/Operator

Job Description

Our client in Sterling Heights is currently seeking an experienced Large Press Setup / Operator to join their manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating large press machines while ensuring quality production and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large mechanical or hydraulic press machines
• Install dies, tooling, and materials according to production requirements
• Adjust machine settings including pressure, alignment, and feed systems
• Perform die changes and assist with production changeovers
• Monitor production runs and inspect parts for quality
• Read blueprints, work orders, and setup instructions
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues as needed
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards

Qualifications

• 2+ years of large press setup/operator experience preferred
• Experience with mechanical or hydraulic presses
• Ability to read blueprints and work instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment
• Manufacturing or metal stamping experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Experience

• Automotive manufacturing experience
• Progressive die or transfer press experience
• Forklift or crane experience is a plus

Pay: $19-$30 Depending on skills1st shift
