District Support Pharmacist - Full Time

The District Support Pharmacist (DSP) cultivates a culture of excellence within each pharmacy, serving as a role model and proxy for the Pharmacy Manager. Responsibilities Provide patient care through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator. Oversee pharmacy operations and act as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the sole pharmacist‑on‑duty. Enhance positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, coaching the team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and administer immunizations, supporting Pharmacy Technicians in learning immunization skills. Manage pharmacy inventory, guide the team on best practices, and protect cold‑chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical proficiency through required company trainings, CME, and continuous learning. Support access to care and improve outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical services such as testing and prescribing where permissible. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support staffing needs. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframes. Concentrate on tasks over time, pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Respond appropriately to patient reactions and understand their needs. Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Practice active listening, give full attention to others, ask questions, and avoid interrupting. Apply mathematical reasoning to calculate quantities for dispensing prescriptions. Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action when multiple options exist. Qualifications – Required Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Qualifications – Preferred 1–2 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Physical Demands Be mobile, remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently up to 10 lbs. Reach overhead, stretch, or extend arms to grasp items. Move fingers repeatedly; manipulate small objects. Stoop to considerable degree, using lower extremities and back muscles. Maintain visual acuity for reading, transcribing, and inspecting small parts. Speak clearly to convey detailed instructions accurately. Compensation and Benefits Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week, full time. Pay Range: $60.00 – $73.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and geography. Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
