Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description

The Warehouse Worker position is responsible for efficiently handling various tasks related to the loading, unloading, counting, inspecting, storing, picking, and completion of orders. This role is customer service-focused and requires maintaining standards of quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete orders according to schedule; load, pack, wrap, label, ship, store, and prepare for shipping.

• Receive and process warehouse stock products including picking, checking, counting, unloading, labeling, and storing.

• Perform inventory controls and ensure quality standards are met accurately.

• Complete assigned tasks with urgency, following proper guidelines and standards.

• Maintain knowledge of product storage temperatures and distinguish between products using attributes such as lot number, brand, size, and quality.

• Build pallets properly to ensure the quality and condition of the product, ensuring merchandise is securely stacked, stored, and leveled.

• Actively maintain a clean and safe working environment, optimize space utilization, and manage waste disposal appropriately.

Essential Skills

• Attention to detail to notice the quality of produce and identify if the quality is compromised.

• Ability to consistently lift 50-60lbs, occasionally up to 70lbs.

• Willingness to complete extra tasks throughout the warehouse, including sanitation, housekeeping, receiving, and unloading.

• Operate electric pallet jack (walkie) when necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in food handling and cold warehouse environments.

• Warehouse outbound or inbound experience.

• Order picking experience in a warehouse setting.

• General labor skills with mandatory heavy lifting capabilities.

Work Environment

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional Sundays, from 4:00pm to 10pm/1am, requiring flexibility to work until tasks are completed. Fridays are mandatory due to high demand, with Saturdays typically off. The environment is cold, with produce stored at temperatures ranging from 33 to 55 degrees, necessitating appropriate attire. The warehouse distributes fruits and vegetables to large grocery stores and school districts, offering overtime opportunities with many staff working 45-50 hours weekly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
