Assistant Coach

Position Overview Department: AthleticsCourse: Women’s SwimmingCompensation: $40,000.00 AnnualTitle: Assistant Athletic Coach (Swimming) General Description The Assistant Swimming Coach reports to the Head Coach and assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. The primary responsibility is coaching and instruction of the sport of swimming. Approximately 60% of the role is dedicated to instruction through in‑pool or dry‑land training and classroom training using video and other teaching techniques. The remaining 40% involves recruiting, administrative tasks, program logistics, and compliance responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Coach and instruct student‑athletes in swimming techniques and decision‑making. Deliver in‑pool and dry‑land training sessions and classroom instruction. Recruit student‑athletes who are athletically and academically prepared for UNF. Maintain daily instructional plans, training logs, academic records, and other required data. Assist with program logistics, including scheduling, travel coordination, and equipment needs. Supervise volunteers, student assistants, and team managers as directed. Ensure compliance with institution, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Report any known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional policies and guidelines. Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and report any incidents to the University Police Department. Qualifications Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background check required; credit check may also be required. Knowledge of NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws, and UNF regulations. Additional Information All candidates must report any allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, or child sexual abuse to the Title IX Administrator or the divisional Title IX Coordinator. The position is designated as a Campus Security Authority, requiring completion of an online or in‑person training session.
