ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY The Concrete General Foreman (GF) plays a key leadership role on the project site, working closely with the Project Superintendent to oversee all aspects of concrete construction. The GF is responsible for ensuring work is completed in alignment with project design, budget, and schedule requirements. This role requires the supervision of multiple crews and carpenters, fostering a productive and respectful work environment. The GF must be skilled at organizing labor and resources, resolving conflicts efficiently, and making critical decisions related to formwork and project execution. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY Leadership & Team Management • Leads carpenters and their crews in executing all self-perform concrete work safely and efficiently. • Works side by side with Crew Leaders/Foremen to provide guidance, expertise, and direction. • Motivates teams through strong leadership and clear expectations. • Trains and mentors crew members to support skill development and workforce growth. • Supports ramp-up and ramp-down planning with the Superintendent to ensure labor resources align with project demands. • Ensures consistent, reliable, and timely attendance to model dependability and accountability. Project Planning & Coordination • Collaborates with the Superintendent to plan and sequence work in alignment with project milestones. • Assists in developing project schedules and oversees execution of tasks to meet schedule goals. • Aligns forming systems and construction techniques with project plans. • Coordinates activities with other trade partners to ensure cohesive site operations and reduce conflicts. Safety Management • Maintains a strong sense of hazard recognition on-site. • Proactively plans and manages the project with a safety-first mindset. • Supports a culture of safety by ensuring crews adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices. Tools, Materials & Logistics • Orders, tracks, and manages tools and materials to support self-perform crews. • Ensures crews have the necessary equipment and supplies to maintain productivity and meet project demands. • Collaborates with procurement and warehouse teams as needed for timely delivery and restocking. YOU'RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE Required Experience & Background • 10+ years of experience in self-perform concrete construction. • Minimum of 2 years serving as a General Foreman or in a similar leadership role. • Strong working knowledge of commercial construction practices and standards. Technical Skills • Proficient in reading and interpreting contract documents, formwork shop drawings, and construction schedules. • Knowledgeable in multiple forming systems and components. • Ability to plan and coordinate all aspects of concrete placement, including ordering concrete, pumps, and inspections. • Familiar with concrete mix designs, slump specifications, and additives. • Competent in layout techniques and able to support or guide layout crews. Technology & Tools • Comfortable using technology on the job site, including navigation of Autodesk tools. • Able to apply stringent quality control procedures using digital tools as needed. Leadership & Work Ethic • Strong safety-first mindset with proven ability to lead crews in a safe and efficient manner. • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to foster a collaborative team environment. • Demonstrates a positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving.
