In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with natural gas compression equipment, field maintenance activities, troubleshooting processes, and operational procedures. The Student Intern will work alongside experienced technicians, participate in field projects and inspections, and develop practical technical skills that support the safe and efficient delivery of energy.At TC Energy, connection is at the heart of everything we do. Every day presents an opportunity to learn, grow and make an impact while helping power progress for the communities we serve.What you'll doSupport field operations while demonstrating TC Energy's core values of Safety In Every Step, Personal Accountability, One Team, and Active LearningAssist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of natural gas compressors and related equipmentGain hands-on experience using field tools, equipment, and operational proceduresLearn and apply safety protocols and procedures for field workParticipate in site visits, equipment inspections, and project activities under supervisionDevelop technical and problem-solving skills applicable to a field technician roleMinimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Chemical, Pipeline, Automation, or related technical / trades programCompletion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work termAvailability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work termPreferred QualificationsExposure to mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or field operations through coursework or projectsKnowledge of natural gas compression systems, industrial equipment, or related technical fieldsDemonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal settingExhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiativesStrong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environmentCommitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguityExperience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing prioritiesAbility to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skillsReflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal developmentThis position requires candidates to:Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testingRelocation EligibilityThis position is eligible for our student relocation assistance program.About our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
