Job Description Summary Demonstrates competency in assembling and testing complex products that involve multiple PCBAs. Essential Responsibilities Prepare the workspace by gathering all necessary parts and materials to initiate or complete the customer order, ensuring all tools and the correct version of the test software are available and ready for use. Utilize Windchill (PLM) system for job‑related engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures. Perform manual assembly of narrow‑band radio products according to the customer work order and work instructions (WPIs) with careful attention to detail, hand‑eye coordination, and manual dexterity. Review and adhere to the Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy. Communicate regularly with supervisors and engineers on the status of jobs, material availability, configuration issues, and other relevant matters. Utilize SAP (ERP) system for job‑related and operational transactions. Carry out barcode scanning tasks and understand barcode principles. Connect entry‑level products to test fixtures, operate and test software, troubleshoot, and identify test failures. Provide support for manufacturing cells as needed. May include select soldering and/or post‑wave functions. Maintain professionalism with all GE co‑workers, staff, management, and customers. Work independently or as part of a team, following any additional duties assigned by the supervisor. Desired Characteristics Prior electronics manufacturing experience. Experience with hand tools and small power tools. Ability to recognize when to reach out to Test Engineering for additional assistance or expertise. Understanding of test equipment and software. Awareness to stop work when quality or safety concerns arise. Ability to communicate effectively through email and instant messaging. General PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word. Ability to navigate the GE network and GE‑specific software programs. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of prior experience working in a manufacturing environment. Physical Environment & Work Environment Must be able to visually observe details at close range. The role may require lifting or moving objects up to approximately 35 lbs. It may involve working with or near chemicals, solder, or other manufacturing materials, and exposure to soldering smoke and fumes; appropriate ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided. The position requires repetitive motion, a high level of dexterity, and the use of hand tools and computers. Employees are required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the work shift and to move about within the manufacturing area to access equipment and files. Protective gear such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and an ESD smock will be required. The work environment involves noise, heat, machinery, and may require working under deadlines or in a production‑paced environment. Pay & Benefits Pay: $24.00 per hour.
