WE ARE OFFERING A $1,500 SIGNING BONUS FOR THIS ROLE! RELOCATION BONUS MAY APPLY FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED REGISTERED TECHNICIANS RELOCATING WITHIN THE PARKER COLORADO AREA! Schedule & Compensation Schedule to be determined post training. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the Hospital and Department. Training days/hours TBD. Following the first 90 days of employment, this position requires participation in after-hours on-call rotating schedule. Hourly rate $25-$34, DOE. Signing bonus $1,500. Relocation bonus up to $1,500 may apply for qualified registered technicians relocating within the Parker, Colorado area. Overall Responsibility: Animal Specialty & Emergency Center is seeking a Veterinary Technician for our state‑of‑the‑art, fast‑paced and dynamic neurology department. The neurology department includes both neurology and neurosurgery and has MRI and CT imaging capabilities. The Neurology Technician will be responsible for monitoring anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgery cases, and for learning about neurological diseases and brain function. We are seeking a candidate who is outgoing and independent with a positive attitude, has a drive to learn and grow, can keep pace with a heavy caseload, and has excellent communication skills. The technician must be able to facilitate communication and patient care between clients, doctors, and assistants and must react in a professional and efficient manner in any situation. Key Areas of Responsibility Technical skills: venipuncture, blood draw, placing IV catheter, lab sample collection. Admitting and discharging procedural and surgical cases. Dispensing medications directed by veterinarian. Preparing estimates and collecting payment from clients. Assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, consults and rechecks. Anesthesia monitoring, endotracheal intubation, assisting the doctor with surgical cases, including scrubbing into surgery. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with a positive attitude. Surgical assisting: preparing and maintaining the surgical environment. Calculating drug dosages (IV, IM, and SQ) of any pre‑induction medications, and administering the same. Professional client communication. Educational Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of animal experience required. Skill Requirements Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs; excellent communication with staff and upper management; good attendance; handles stress well and maintains a positive attitude; excels at conflict resolution and problem solving.
