Job Title: Corporate Operations & HR Manager About THE SEVEN US, INC. Backed by Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, Inc. (TBS) with $180M in capital, THE SEVEN US, INC. is a newly established Los Angeles-based production studio. In partnership with major Hollywood studios, we are driving global live-action film and series projects leveraging top-tier Japanese IP. As we accelerate our LA office launch and prepare to scale, we are seeking a dedicated "People & Corporate Operations" leader to design and manage the back-office foundation essential for our studio's growth. Position Overview This is a highly hands-on management role operating as a solo practitioner. You will comprehensively execute back-office operations spanning HR, labor compliance, payroll, general affairs, facilities, and corporate governance. Our strategy is to scale operations through automated workflows and by maximizing external vendors (payroll, HR, legal, IT, brokers). You will serve as the strategic hub - directing vendors, executing internal tasks that cannot be outsourced, and acting as the primary point of contact for our employees and executive management. Key Responsibilities Payroll & Benefits: Direct payroll data finalization via HCM systems, execute compensation adjustments, and serve as the internal liaison for medical insurance, 401(k), and Open Enrollment. HR & CA Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to California labor laws (wage/hour, mandatory training). Execute full-cycle onboarding/offboarding, manage personnel records, and lead performance review cycles. Facilities & Risk Management: Oversee day-to-day office operations, coordinate IT MSPs, and act as Project Manager for future office relocation/expansion projects. Manage Cal/OSHA safety compliance and corporate insurance renewals. Governance & Liaison: Manage Contract Lifecycle (CLM) notice periods to prevent unwanted auto-renewals. Coordinate statutory corporate filings and ensure alignment between US operational practices and our Japanese parent company. Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of hands-on HR, labor compliance, and general affairs experience in the US (California experience is strictly required). Knowledge: Deep practical knowledge of CA labor laws (Wage Orders, OT/breaks, AB 5 / ABC Test worker classification). Vendor Management: Proven track record of directing external vendors (payroll, brokers, IT) and building SOPs from scratch. Mindset: A self-directed, "no task is too small" attitude - balancing high-level compliance/project management with hands-on daily administrative execution. Language: Fluent English is required. Business-level Japanese is highly preferred for seamless liaison with the Japanese parent company. Preferred: Experience setting up a back-office in the entertainment industry, startup environment, or a US subsidiary of a Japanese company. Base Salary: $95,000+ / year (Exempt), evaluated based on experience. Allowances: Taxable medical stipend provided until a formal small group health plan is implemented (Jan 2027).
