We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. Please review the job description below. Position Overview Under the direction of the Controller, this role is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, standard costing, inventory accounting, and financial analysis, while partnering with operations leadership to drive informed business decisions and improve financial performance. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules. Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Develop, maintain, and analyze annual operating budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Partner with department managers to monitor spending, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions. Perform detailed financial analysis to support strategic planning, capital investments, and operational initiatives. Maintain and analyze standard costs, including labor, overhead, and material costs. Conduct cost rollups and support annual standard cost updates. Analyze manufacturing variances, including purchase price, production, labor, overhead, and inventory variances. Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP. Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation. Prepare management reports, dashboards, and KPI analysis to support business performance. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Production, and Leadership teams. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP systems. PLEX is preferred but not required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non‑financial stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
