Position is based at 4301 W Memorial Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73134. Position requires availability Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed. SUMMARY Under the direction of the assigned manager, the Business Banker 2 develops solid banking relationships using the CFB4 (or small business equivalent) sales process and the Bank’s available resources to market all Arvest’s products and services to meet current and future client needs while maximizing the Bank’s revenue and profit. The incumbent is responsible for the management of basic to expanded small business relationships. Proficiency in the origination, analysis, underwriting, and servicing of small business loans within the established policy framework and knowledge of all business banking products is required. The role requires critical thinking, time management, and multi‑tasking skills, along with the ability to assess client needs while providing excellent customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Use proven business/commercial banking knowledge and experience to manage basic to expanded small business relationships utilizing CFB4 sales principles to develop a fully banked account relationship. Cultivate relationships within the community, including prospective referral sources (Centers of Influence) to generate new business opportunities for the Bank. Work internally with strategic business partners (e.g., ABE, Treasury Management, Credit Card, Wealth Management) and branch associates to fully develop the Small Business Customer/Prospect relationship, including joint customer calls and conducting CFBs with branch associates. Facilitate small business loans through Small Business Underwriting within policy guidelines. For requests outside the scope of SBU, originate, process, underwrite, approve, and close small business loans (including SBA guaranteed) within authorized lending authority and loan policy. Maintain a quality loan portfolio as outlined by the Loan Manager and loan policy. Provide comprehensive guidance and solutions to existing and potential small business customers and internal associates who help service these customers. Stay abreast of changing business trends that impact the small business market segment and translate those trends into business opportunities. Maintain an expanded working knowledge of all Arvest small business banking products and services, including deposit accounts, loans, Treasury Management, credit cards, merchant services, SBA loans, etc. Use ClientLink to manage and track client relationships, schedule contacts, follow‑up, and input sales opportunities for pipeline and production. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program. Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and any suspicious customer or account activity. TEAM ACCOUNTABILITIES Cross‑sell other services of the bank. Support and uphold the Arvest Mission Statement. Uphold the Arvest Code of Ethics and ensure confidential information is safeguarded. Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service. Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation. Promote professionalism at all times. SUPERVISORY SKILLS May directly supervise one or more associates as assigned by the Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensures direct reports complete required compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining associates, and making recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, or other changes of status. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent military or work experience required. Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members. Two years of small business banking or commercial credit analysis experience required. General understanding of building full banking relationships required. Completion of CFB4 (or small business equivalent) required within 12 months. Completion of American Bankers Association Small Business Banker Certificate required within 12 months. Successful sales experience, including outside sales, preferred. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Arrive at work on time, work on site, and maintain regular attendance. Work cooperatively with others regardless of personality or communication style. Provide cordial customer service regardless of customer personality or communication style. Perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Work effectively in a stressful environment. Rotate job tasks and coordinate multiple changing priorities. Verbal communication with all associates. Operate telephone, scanner, copier, fax machines, and personal computer. Use smart phone and virtual sales tools such as Zoom. Occasionally work outside of normal business hours. Move between departments or branches to attend meetings. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires regular talking, hearing, sitting, occasional standing and walking, using hands to handle objects, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and color vision and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
