Fleet Manager

Join the MVT Family!!! Mesilla Valley Transportation is now hiring a Fleet Manager in El Paso, TX! The Fleet Manager is responsible for supervising drivers engaged in operating trucks and trailers. This position will be based in El Paso, TX and will report to work at the terminal daily. Pay: $50,000 per year Salary plus monthly bonus potential based on individual KPI's (key performance indicators) Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm or until work is complete; Every other Saturday 8am-12pm or until work in complete We also work on Holidays (Rotation) Responsibilities: Manages a fleet of about 30 truck drivers remotely Drives employees to high performance expectations, such as efficiency (improved miles per gallon), professionalism, on-time deliveries Analyzes and monitors the work quality, safety quality, attendance/punctuality, and behavior of drivers, and disciplines when necessary. Available for escalations and questions, as well as knowledgeable on available resources and connections. Assigns drivers to units and maintains truck/trailer performance by increasing truck miles to improve profitability. Monitors satellite communication to determine hours of driver service and to resolve driver log issues. Analyzes and monitors the work quality, safety quality, attendance/punctuality, and behavior of drivers, and disciplines when necessary. Controls expenses such as layover/motel reimbursement and unloading/advances. Improves fuel efficiency by limiting idle time and enforcing drivers to utilize the MVT partner truck stops when fueling trucks/trailers. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required). Supervisory experience of 15+ employees (at least 1 year). Proficient communicator in both English and Spanish language. (Preferred) Strong knowledge of motor carrier operations and geography. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Mesilla Valley Transportation began in 1982 as a small independent fleet in the Southwest.
