Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) is sought for assignments in a prominent healthcare organization in Madison, Wisconsin. The position involves providing high-quality inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological conditions on a fast-paced 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit. The role offers an opportunity to refine neuro-related nursing skills within a collaborative interdisciplinary team, focusing on evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.

Job Details:

• Location: 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792
• Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/14/2026
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in neuro or medical-surgical with telemetry, experience with Epic electronic charting system, and ability to pass Telemetry certification exam prior to start.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in trauma level II settings, prior community hospital experience, and demonstrated proficiency in managing ports, Central lines, and complex cardiac rhythms.
• Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association is required.
• Additional Information: Qualified candidates will have skills including managing blood products, IV management, dysrhythmia interpretation, spinal cord injury care, stroke and neurology patient management, and familiarity with various respiratory and wound care equipment. The candidate must pass strict pass/fail telemetry exams in adult and pediatric cardiac rhythm interpretation within two attempts. Telemetry testing involves 100% identification of lethal rhythms for adults and includes specific criteria for passing. The assignment requires adherence to float policies, with travelers assigned as needed to different units based on staffing needs.
