Job Description

This full-time Dental Receptionist/Back Office position supports both the front and back office teams, ensuring smooth daily operations and an excellent patient experience. The role involves welcoming patients, managing appointments and insurance processes, handling billing and payments, and supporting administrative functions. Regular Saturday shifts are required. This role reports to the Office Manager and Lead Dentist.

 

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
• Schedule, confirm, and optimize patient appointments and recall systems
• Verify insurance eligibility and submit or track claims accurately
• Present treatment estimates and collect co-pays and balances
• Process payments and post transactions using dental management software (e.g., Dentrix)
• Answer incoming calls, manage emails and faxes professionally
• Maintain secure patient records and handle front office supply ordering
• Coordinate calendar management to minimize patient wait times

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in dental reception and assisting roles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Knowledge of insurance verification, patient scheduling, and billing processes
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently
