Description:
Need OB Hospitalist providers who can handle high-risk pregnancies.
Client-Fetal Medicine (MFM) will be available in-house during the day.
MFM will be on-call at night.
Open to generalists interested in high-risk cases with MFM support.
Looking for candidates with clean files to start as soon as possible with emergency temporary privileges.
The OB Hospitalist role primarily covers MFM services and any urgent obstetric needs and emergencies.
Typically, this involves assisting with cesarean sections and other obstetrical procedures.
Pregnant and postpartum patients requiring ECMO-level care are rare.
These cases are primarily managed by MFM and ICU teams.
Delivery responsibility for high-acuity patients varies by clinical setting.
Some deliveries are performed by MFM physicians, while others are managed by OB Hospitalists/Generalists.
The patient population is predominantly high-risk, with over 90% requiring MFM involvement.
OB Hospitalists are expected to co-manage patients with MFM specialists and provide obstetric coverage.
There is collaboration with other OB providers for support and assistance.
Access to maternal-fetal medicine specialists is available 24/7.
Documentation system used is Epic.
Electronic fetal monitoring technology is also utilized.
Emergency temporary privileges can only be granted with clean files.
No residents will be supervised.
The coverage involves unassigned obstetric patients as needed.
The primary focus will be on obstetrics, with limited gynecological involvement.
