Commercial Concrete Finishing
This foreman role oversees commercial flatwork projects in the KC Metro area, focusing on small to mid-sized buildings. You lead finishers and carpenters in installing and repairing wood fixtures and in smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete. You ensure projects are completed efficiently, within budgeted man hours, and to a high standard of quality and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Concrete finishers and carpenters on commercial flatwork projects in the KC Metro area.
- Review and understand project details
- Plan and organize daily work to maximize project profitability through efficient and diligent task completion.
- Install, repair, and erect fixtures made of wood for commercial structures such as strip malls, schools, restaurants, and small office buildings.
- Perform concrete finishing work, including smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete surfaces.
- Oversee concrete form setup, concrete pours, and related concrete work to ensure structural integrity and high-quality finishes.
- Collaborate with construction teams and general labor personnel to complete masonry, mechanical, and related construction tasks as needed.
- Monitor site conditions and work progress, addressing issues promptly to keep projects on schedule.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience finishing concrete or performing concrete carpentry on commercial projects.
- Proven ability to perform professional-grade concrete finishing from day one, including smoothing, leveling, and detailed finishing work.
- Strong leadership skills to direct and motivate crews in a commercial construction environment.
- Hands-on experience with commercial concrete finishing and carpentry, including concrete forms, pours, and cast iron-related work.
- Proper knowledge and practical use of tools and equipment for carpentry, concrete work, and general construction tasks.
- Experience in construction environments involving concrete work, masonry, and general labor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical aspects of construction projects.
- Experience with concrete forms, concrete pours, and cast iron elements in commercial construction.
- Exposure to masonry and general labor tasks on job sites.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple small to mid-sized commercial projects such as strip malls, schools, restaurants, and office buildings.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse construction teams and adapt to changing project needs.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Lees Summit, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
