Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a 13-week day-shift assignment requiring a California RN license and at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience.

Details

• PICU/PACU unit within a children's hospital setting
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts with variable start times between 10:30am and 12:30pm
• Possible standby/on-call based on department needs
• Call requirements include one call shift per weeknight or every other weekend, plus one holiday call as needed
• No floating to sister facilities required
• Not open to block scheduling
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active California RN license required (or ETA for licensure posting)
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric hospital experience required
• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required for PICU or ED candidates (not required for Peds PACU experience)
• Associate's degree required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (AHA) required
• Skilled in airway management, ventilator care, extubation, pain control, cardiac monitoring, fluid and electrolyte management, and discharge instructions

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU/PACU patients with NP ratios of 1:1-2 and discharge area ratios of 1:3-4
• Facility is a Level 1 trauma, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital with Beacon Award distinction
• Scrubs of any color are accepted
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Maximum RTO of 6 days must be confirmed upfront at submission
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from employment for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
• Travelers who complete a full year at this facility or its sister facility must wait 90 days before returning as a traveler
• Free traveler parking is provided
