Staff Accountant

The Corporate Accounting team is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. You’ll have the unique opportunity to build processes, collaborate cross functionally, and play a key role in the team’s ability to scale. The Staff Accountant will own various functional accounting areas and gain exposure to ad hoc initiatives and projects. The role is responsible for the company’s Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, including invoice processing, payment procurement, collections, and account reconciliations. This position also provides support for month-end close activities, prepares selected journal entries, and helps ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This position reports to the Corporate Accounting Controller and will work cross-functionally as a valuable member contributing to the Company’s continued growth and success. Responsibilities: Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment of approved obligations. Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies. Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH payments and wire transfers. Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and account balances. Accounts Receivable: Manage customer payments by applying on a weekly basis and ensuring follow-ups with customers. Work with the Operations department on supporting documents for any short payments on invoices. Work with the Sales department to understand the customer agreements as it relates to sales deductions and chargebacks. Send reminders for overdue payments and communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances. Generate insightful reports and analysis for management and reconcile customer accounts for accuracy. Other Responsibilities: Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable subledgers to the general ledger. Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules. Drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility. Participate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management. Qualifications 1+ years of progressive accounting experience; ideally, a public accounting/private industry mix. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. CPA (or on track to be certified) strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP required. Possess excellent attention to detail and analytical, organizational, problem solving, and prioritization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Able to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlines. Team player with a positive attitude and open mindset, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work in a dynamic environment. Experience working with NetSuite a plus. Proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and Google Workspace (e.g. Google Sheets and Slides) required.
